Permali Gloucester is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract to supply applique armour and spall liners for the ST Kinetics' Warthog vehicle that the UK MoD has recently ordered.
The UK MoD will take delivery of more than 100 Warthog vehicles before the end of 2010.
Permali Gloucester developed the armour system to meet an exacting ballistic specification and to integrate with other essential equipment installed on the vehicle.
Permali will be using technologies developed using cost effective composite materials that can still achieve significant weight savings compared to traditional metallic solutions.
Design, material selection and testing were conducted in parallel to meet the demanding time schedule for contract assessment and approval, contract award and initial manufacturing which has already commenced.
Permali will be completing further design work to develop the command and ambulance variants over the next months.
Permali will deliver complete sets of components to ST Kinetics in Singapore and also to Thales in the UK who are responsible for system integration for the programme.
