New England Clean Energy has been selected as the installer for LittleBoxSolar, a joint solar initiative between the towns of Littleton and Boxborough, Mass.; and has already signed its first agreement with a Boxborough homeowner, for a 9,380-watt residential solar energy system.
Site visits for LittleBoxSolar began July 1. The program runs through Oct. 30. The program is a focused effort to increase the use of solar power to benefit property owners and guide the communities of Boxborough and Littleton toward a sustainable environment.
The community solar program offers a tiered pricing system in which the more kilowatts of solar installed, the lower the price for all participants. The goal of the program is to install at least 50 systems total in the two towns.

Clean Energy was the installer for a very successful community solar project in Stow last year, which went far beyond expectations, and the company has worked on three state-sponsored Solarize programs as well," said Francie Nolde, LittleBoxSolar Co-Coach.
