National Wind Solutions has announced that it has received a positive preliminary evaluation report related to the patent portfolio it has optioned for its Zero Emissions Fuel Cell subsidiary.
Prepared by a well known research university with extensive experience in fuel cell development, the report is an important step in determining the Company's technology development plan.
"We are extremely pleased with the results contained in the evaluation report," stated Kathleen Delaney, Chairman of National Wind Solutions.
"The report will serve as an outline as we implement an aggressive technology development plan over the coming months."
"We believe this patent portfolio provides a significant competitive advantage over existing fuel cell technologies, both in terms of system efficiency and production expense," added Delaney.
The nascent fuel cell industry is set to start taking energy market share led by companies such as Ballad; Fuel Cell Energy and PlugPower.
Experts expect the fuel cell market to grow substantially in the next several years as operation and production efficiencies are realized.
NWND will develop its fuel cell patent portfolio within its subsidiary, Zero Emissions Fuel Cell.
The NWND fuel cell is expected to be economical to manufacture, operate at atmospheric pressure and run on natural gas.
This makes it an ideal solution for homes and businesses already serviced by natural gas for heating. By utilizing a fuel cell, homes or businesses can generate all of their energy needs from existing natural gas service.
