We have all been there: We spend an hour navigating through an unfamiliar city looking for a place, only to find that the information in our trusty GPS is outdated or just plain wrong because it was mechanically geocoded.

GPS Mundi solves this problem by actually visiting the place, marking the precise coordinates of the entrance, and taking a picture which can be displayed on your GPS so you know what to look for.

These coordinates are then packaged into a file that can be downloaded onto your GPS.

These are the major cities and areas currently covered: Austria: Vienna, Salzburg; Bulgaria: Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Nessebar; Croatia: Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Coastal Cities, Istria; Czech Republic: Prague; Hungary: Budapest; Italy: Florence, Tuscany, Venice; Poland: Krakow, Warsaw; Romania: Bucharest, Brasov, Painted Monasteries, Sighisoara; Slovakia: Bratislava; Slovenia: Ljubljana, Lake Bled; Spain: Barcelona, Toledo.

The emphasis is on destinations that you are most likely to be recommended to by a Tourist Information Office or a Guidebook.

It works great for the car as well as walking, and also shows you nearby Points of Interest that you would have otherwise missed.

Most major brands of GPS are supported, with the added bonus of showing an actual picture of the place on Garmin Nuvi units.
