Pet Tracks has retained TransMedia Group to yelp about the launch of America's first national pet information registry, which could dramatically reduce an exploding pet population in animal shelters nationwide. The innovative new service offers pet owners for the first time an affordable and non-invasive way to keep track of their pets through a national database and GPS technology.

The new pet recovery system will dramatically increase the chances of a speedy and safe reunion should animals and their owners ever be separated in calamities like tornadoes, hurricanes and acts of terrorism.

According to Bush Enterprises, parent company of Pet Tracks, CTO Pamela Bush, "Hurricane Katrina left the owners of approximately 600,000 pets grieving over their missing animals, while 6 to 8 million pets enter animal shelters needlessly each year in the U.S. Pet Tracks will attack this problem by providing owners with an affordable way to recover lost pets."

Upon enrollment, each pet receives a Pet Tracks ID Tag, engraved with a unique Pet Tracks ID number, a Pet Tracks phone number and website address. Upgrade options include the Pet Tracks Flash Drive and the Pet Tracks GPS System.

Information on the unique Pet Tracks Tag can be used to contact Pet Track operators, who are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The ID number allows the operator to find the emergency contact information and medical information that was entered into the system.

"With hurricane season right around the corner, it's important for pet owners to be prepared," said Kim Morgan, Senior VP of TransMedia Group. "As pet owners ourselves, we're excited to be working with Pet Tracks as it's the most innovative and technologically advanced pet recovery system to date," added Morgan
