Norway produced an average of 2 billion barrels of oil, liquified natural gas and condensate in February — less oil and gas than was produced in January. Production numbers were also less than those posted in February of last year.
According to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, February oil and gas production yielded 25,000 fewer barrels per day than January.
On its own, oil production was up slightly in February at 1.62 million barrels of oil per day, compared to January's 1.6 million. So far, the year's oil production numbers are beating projections by 0.5 percent.
According to Platts, production numbers were depressed by unexpected outages at several of Norway's North Sea oil and gas wells, including the Oseberg, Kristin, Kvitebjorn and Troll fields.
"But supplies are still running at high levels," Platts reported.
