Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Thursday hailed "progress" in resolving the North Koean nuclear crisis, in an interview with reporters from G8 countries.

"There is progress. The international community naturally must not change its stance, we should create a system of positive motivation for our North Korean partners, help them," Medvedev said.

"The decisions that were made recently, as well as steps taken by North Korea's leaders, such as demolition of nuclear objects, are in my view steps in the right direction," the Russian leader added.
