Marketing Max recently launched its free online marketing advice application, Marketing GPS. The new service asks its users 18 multiple-choice questions and uses a proprietary complex scoring and ranking system to calculate which areas of marketing, in any of nine different categories, a business may want to consider focusing their energy on.

The results include an easy-to-read bar chart along with a detailed summary of marketing options to consider and why — all based on how the user answers the questions.

"Some of the most frequent calls and emails we receive are from small business owners asking us where they should start in terms of marketing their business," says Marketing Max Founder and CEO, Michael Turner.

"Since each business has different goals, needs and budgets, we decided — and our beta tests confirmed — that it would be useful to offer a very simple online application that will allow these businesses to quickly see what our team would likely suggest to them in terms of a general marketing direction."

While this new online resource may seem simple on the surface, the behind-the-scenes calculations are not. The company has engineered a complex ranking and scoring system and uses what appear to be fairly basic questions to gather the data it needs to generate the resulting report. The entire system was designed to be non-biased towards any one particular marketing method.

"In keeping with the philosophy of our own company, this new online resource takes something that is normally complicated and makes it simple," says Turner. "The goal of the Marketing GPS application is to offer useful direction for those who just aren't sure where to start or if what they are currently doing in terms of marketing is the best idea."

From a privacy perspective, the Marketing GPS website does not require any sort of registration or personal information nor are the answers to the questions or the resulting report saved.
