The Mobile Satellite Users Association (MSUA) announced that the MSUA International Conference and Exhibition will focus on "Delivering the Promise of Mobile Satellite Services." MSUA-5 is the only conference dedicated to the mobile satellite industry, and will be held at the Pier 5 Hotel on Baltimore's Inner Harbor, on May 13-14, 2008.

"Mobile satellite services have been available for close to thirty years, but the alternatives available now are really exciting," explained Bob Roe, Chairman of MSUA, and President, Stratos Government Services, Inc.

"Users can select from units that offer a range of data speeds, including IP-connectivity, with prices to meet almost any budget, and many of those alternatives will be on display at MSUA-5. The program is strong, and we are particularly pleased this year because Ms. Rebecca Cowen-Hirsch, DISA's director of satellite services, will deliver the keynote address."

Tim Farrar, MSUA President, noted that "The conference will hear from many key industry leaders, including Matt Desch of Iridium, Tony Navarra of Globalstar, Leo Mondale of Inmarsat and Tim Bryan of ICO about their future plans and competitive position in the Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) market.

"We will debate key issues impacting the development of MSS, including Ancillary Terrestrial Component (ATC) services, the future of handheld MSS, the rapid growth of low data rate asset tracking services and the development of new mobile broadband services, with eight interactive panel sessions over two days."
