Innovation Fuels has become the first Northeast biodiesel producer to receive BQ-9000 accreditation in both the areas of biodiesel production (2008) and most recently (April 2009), biodiesel marketing – a rarified and significant industry achievement.
Innovation Fuels received both accreditations from The National Biodiesel Accreditation Program, a cooperative and voluntary program for the accreditation of producers and marketers of BQ-9000. The program is a unique combination of the AS standard for biodiesel, AS D6751, and a quality systems program that includes storage, sampling, testing, blending, shipping, distribution, and fuel management practices.
BQ-9000 is open to any biodiesel manufacturer, marketer or distributor of biodiesel and biodiesel blends in the United States and Canada.
"After initially receiving BQ-9000 production certification and following a thorough year-long process of acquiring BQ-9000 marketing accreditation, I am very pleased that we are the very first in New York harbor to have received both distinctions," commented Bob Lindenbaum, Chief Marketing Officer for Innovation Fuels.
"We are also delighted to have the ability to offer our customers a superior biodiesel product on a regular basis."
"In receiving dual accreditation for BQ-9000, we now have heightened marketing capabilities in New York harbor together with advanced production facilities to deliver an array of methyl esters to the domestic marketplace," remarked Innovation Fuels CEO John Fox.
BQ-9000 helps companies improve their fuel testing and greatly reduce any chance of producing or distributing inadequate fuel.
To receive accreditation, Innovation Fuels passed a rigorous review and inspection of their quality control processes by an independent auditor to ensure that quality control is fully implemented.
