Researchers synthesize new plutonium isotope for the first time

A research team at the Institute of Modern Physics (IMP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has successfully synthesized a previously unknown plutonium isotope, plutonium-227, marking an important advance in nuclear science.
